CONSULTATION ABSTRACTS AVAILABLE ONLINE – The Global Consultation on Music and Missions (GCoMM) is offering an amazing palette of choices at its July 11-15 event. Registrants will select from over 50 seminars, panels, plenary sessions, and media presentations. Experienced leaders from more than 20 organizations will present seminars within the following tracks: Foundations, Media and Related Arts, Contextualization and Case Studies, Methodology, and Overcoming Obstacles. Break-out sessions organized by geographical area and interest group will provide networking opportunities for participants. ONLINE REGISTRATION OPENS FOR GCoMM 2006
Hundreds of musicians, music missionaries, educators, worship pastors, and Christian leaders from around the world will gather for the second Global Consultation on Music and Missions (GCoMM 2006), to be held July 11-15 at Bethel University in St. Paul, Minnesota. At GCoMM 2006, a superb team of plenary and seminar speakers will explore the cultural aspects of music and worship.
Register for GCoMM 2006 before April 1 and receive an early-bird rate of $245, which includes 12 meals. Our convenient online registration will also allow you to reserve your spot in Bethel University's on-campus housing, obtainable on a "first come, first served" basis for $25/night. Discounted registration rates are also available for students and those coming from outside of North America. GCoMM attendees from sponsoring organizations will be eligible for a ten percent discount on the registration fee. For details on how your church or organization can become a sponsor, write to info@gcommhome.org.
An all-day, pre-event seminar entitled “Heart Musics in Missions” will be held on July 11 for an extra $65. This optional seminar will introduce the role and importance of heart music in specific local expressions of the worldwide church. Experienced instructors will provide theoretical and practical tools for encouraging the creation of indigenous Christian music in a variety of cultural and multi-cultural settings. Academic credit for this seminar is offered through Bethel University for an additional cost.

OUTSTANDING TEAM OF PLENARY SPEAKERS SLATED FOR GCOMM 2006 – The Global Consultation on Music and Missions is pleased to announce the plenary speakers for its 2006 event, which will be held July 11-15 at Bethel University in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Celebrate what God is doing world-wide while learning about music and missions from such recognized experts as I-to Loh, Roberta King, Ronald Man, Mary Oyer, Steven Fry, John Witvliet, and others. Choose from over 30 informative breakout sessions on topics such as syncretism, promoting unity in blended cultural contexts both at home and abroad, and other facets of using culturally relevant music to reach and encourage others with the good news.
