Plenary Speakers
Are you theologically at work in your music making and artistic pursuits? Be challenged and inspired by plenary speakers Stan Moore, Landa Cope, Ron Man, Tony Yeo and guest speaker Michael Card, who have sought to love God unreservedly and to know Him through His Word. Hear how they have encouraged the use of culturally appropriate music and art forms to advance the kingdom of God. Be refreshed by these fellow soul harvesters, both in your personal journey to know Christ in you, and in the vital role you fill within the Body of Christ, as together we seek to fulfill His commission.
"Let us first and foremost seek to love God with our entire being (heart, soul, mind, strength) and to be "filled with all the fulness of God" (Ephesians 3:19), that our lives of worship might then overflow with a grateful aspiration to "make disciples of all the nations" -- that they too might worship Him and love Him and serve Him -- that in all things God might be glorified." - Ron Man

Stan Moore
Stan Moore co-founded and directed the first Global Consultation on Music and Missions (GCoMM) in 2003. He is a graduate of the University of New Mexico where he earned a BME degree in Voice and Conducting. He also earned MCM and MM degrees in Conducting and a DMA degree in Music Ministry from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (Ft. Worth TX).
Prior to his appointment to BHCTI in November 2003, Dr Moore was the Thad Roberts Professor of Music Ministry at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (2003). He was also the Chairman of the Music Ministry Department (1990-2002) and Acting Dean of the School of Church Music (2002-03). Dr Morre also served as a career missionary in Brazil from 1978 to 1987.
He has led workshops, presentations, and conferences on worship, missions, and music ministry in a number of churches and theological institutes in the United States, Brazil, England, Romania, and Germany.
Dr. Moore and his wife Mary have three children.
Michael Card
In a career that spans 25 years, Michael Card has recorded over 23 albums, authored or co-authored over 19 books, hosted a radio program, and written for a wide range of magazines. While he has penned such favorites as “El Shaddai”, “Love Crucified Arose”, and “Emmanuel,” he never imagined selling more than 4 million albums or writing over 19 #1 hits. The popularity of his work seemed a stark contrast to his goal in life, to simply, and quietly teach the Bible.
Although music provided him the opportunity to share insights gained through extensive research, writing songs alone limited what he felt called to share. Card would frequently agonize over having to condense the vast depth and richness of scripture into a three-minute song. And so he fell, quite naturally, into the field of book writing where he has garnered numerous awards.
Never one to compartmentalize his spiritual life, Card's quest for community slowly seeped into his professional life as he began to write articles and books on topics that captured his imagination through conversations with Bible teachers, friends and contemporaries in both Christian music and the academic community.
Besides being one of the plenary speakers, Michael will also be leading us in a time of worship on the evenings of 5th and 6th July 2010.
