When it comes to reaching the new generation for Christ, are believers today truly sowing for the future—or just reaping the benefits of past evangelistic efforts? The gospel message never changes, but the way people make sense of it does. What does it take to bring an old message of God’s love to a new generation who needs it?
T2.2 Movies. Stories. God.
Which movie should you invite your friend to watch: The Jesus film, Fireproof, or Batman? WHY? Discover the power of stories through motion pictures (both short and feature-length films), and how you can use them to start and engage in profound spiritual conversations.
T2.3 Music for evangelism and soul-awakening
Discover how to use music performances of various styles to effectively connect with the lost. Learn valuable skills in doing good audience analysis, and how to design concert programs for varying levels of gospel proclamation. Hear real stories on the use of music in soul-awakening events, pre-evangelistic and full-evangelistic settings.
T2.4 Born digital: what it means to connect with this Digital Generation
Understand the mindset and thinking of this “digital-native” generation. What are the challenges in connecting with and reaching them? How can digital immigrants (those born before 1980) grow, learn, and lead, to more effectively connect with them? How to make the gospel “click” for them? Discover practical ways/tools to engage them, and help lead them to discover their own spiritual journeys.
T2.5 Discipleship and missions in the Web 2.0 world
The noise of social networking and private virtual communities continues to grow. Yet, we are still very early on in understanding what churches are doing effectively online in these areas. Are churches really able to gather people, create community and foster discipleship? Do you want to know what is working and what is a waste of time? What is the impact of the internet and technology or social media on missions and ministry? What thinking paradigms changes are needed for us to “catch up” with our changing generation?
T2.6 Heart-to-Heart (Q&A forum)
Join teachers of the Finding Common Ground track, and ministers from various Creative Ministries in a heart-t0-heart conversation. Hear stories of successes and failures and glean from their journey. Share your own journey. Ask a question. It’s a free-for-all session designed to hear and address your needs!
