Track 03 - Creative Arts Ministries Track
Target Audience:
T3. Creative Arts Ministries (for those involved in using creative arts for urban missions and churches)
This track will focus on art, theatre and dance. These workshops will focus on sharing resources, innovative ideas in reaching your culture through practical participation in a collaboration of the four-day event.
Breakout sessions:
T3.1 The Art of Dance: “For in Him we live and move and have our being” (Acts 17:28)
This session will discover the many ways of expressing God’s heart through dance. This course will touch on areas of the Modern dancer, the Cultural dancer, the Worshipper in dance. This will include a practical hands-on application as well, so be prepared to jump, roll, sweat and create!
T3.2 The Art of Theatre: We all have a story to tell!
Playback theatre will be introduced as a first in GCoMM. This type of drama is a form of improvisational theatre in which audience or group members tell stories from their lives and watch them enacted on the spot. Come and be inspired by the power of storytelling.
T3.3 The Art of Creating with your hands
This session includes painting, drawing, sculpturing and much more. Come and explore the many forms of art and the dynamic power of communicating God’s heart through this medium.
T3.4 The Art of Welcoming the Child
This session focuses on including children in the arts. All children have intrinsic within them God’s expression of drama, music, and all forms of creativity. Come and learn how to make space for them to express that in reaching out to your church body or in missions.
T3.5 The Art of Seeing a Culture
God has placed “His Story” in each culture through some key cultural practices or understandings. Come and discover how He has placed eternity in the hearts of all men and the process of transforming culture so that every tribe, tongue and nation (Rev 5:9) will be represented before the throne.
T3.6 The Art of Knowing the Artist
The artist is as important as the art they produce. Come discover insight in your creative capacity in understanding yourself and also how to work with artists to bring out the most in them.
